About the car
The W 113 is a two-seater convertible cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz which was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963. It was intended to replace both the 190 SL and 300 SL models. Thanks to its optionally available inwardly curved hard top, it gained the nickname of Pagoda. A total of 48,912, with optional manual or automatic gearbox, were built in the 230 SL (1963 – 1967), 250 SL (1967) and 280 SL (1968 – 1971) models.
Vehicle description
This Mercedes Pagoda originally came from the USA and was completely converted to the European version. The vehicle was dismantled, the bodywork was examined and various sheet metal parts were then expertly replaced and entirely painted in the original beige grey. Features: engine overhauled, new engine mounting, automatic gearbox overhauled, completely new brake system incl. lines, new shock absorbers, new tie rods, new stainless steel exhaust incl. heat insulation sheet, etc., fuel tank overhauled, new fuel pump incl. lines, rims powder-coated, new tyres, 90% of all chrome parts were newly chrome-plated. New "Sonnenland" soft top, hard top, new full leather interior, new Becker Europe radio, new radiator + oil cooler + heat exchanger.
