About the car
The W 113 is a two-seat convertible of Mercedes Benz wich was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1963. It should replace the types 190 SL and 300 SL at the same time. It got the nickname "Pagode" because of its additionally available hardtop wich is curved inwards.
All in all it was built 48.912 times in the versions 230 SL (1963 - 1967), 250 SL (967) and 280 SL (1968 - 1971). It was optionally built with a manual transmission or an automatic transmission.
