About the car
The Mercedes Benz 190 SL is technically based on the limousine of the W121 series ("Ponton"-Model).
In order to increase the US business, in 1953 they had the idea to create two differently developed sports car models as a complement to the conservative Mercedes model rang.
The 190 SL should come close to its "big brother", the 300 SL gull wing.
